Veneers are an extremely effective and aesthetically precise solution in modern dentistry
Veneers are made of high-quality porcelain and bonded to the front surface of the teeth, allowing for subtle yet significant correction of shape, color, size, or alignment.
The main advantage of porcelain veneers is their ability to replicate the natural translucency and light reflection of tooth enamel. The result is exceptionally aesthetic - the teeth look completely natural, without an artificial sheen or grayish tints. This makes them the preferred choice for patients seeking a smile that is beautiful yet unobtrusive.
The material used to make the veneers is biocompatible and gentle on soft tissues—it does not cause inflammation, discoloration, or allergic reactions. In addition, porcelain is extremely stain-resistant and retains its color and luster over time, even with frequent consumption of foods and beverages such as coffee, wine, or tobacco.
The placement procedure is minimally invasive – only a thin layer of enamel (0.2–0.5 mm) or no enamel is removed at all (for teeth with large gaps or small teeth)—non-prep veneers. Each case is planned individually based on the bite, the dental arch, and the aesthetic proportions of the face.
Veneers are a solution with high predictability, excellent tolerability, and long-lasting aesthetics.
With proper maintenance and regular check-ups, the results remain stable over time, without the need for frequent replacement or adjustment.
The first step is important.
Porcelain (ceramic) veneers are extremely stain-resistant, have a long lifespan (usually between 10 and 15 years), and mimic natural tooth enamel exceptionally well.
Composite veneers are made from a photopolymer material. They are a more affordable option, but have a shorter lifespan (about 5–8 years) and may change color or lose their luster over time.
With standard veneers, a thin layer of enamel (about 0.3–0.5 mm) must be removed to make room for the veneer. There are also that do not require filing (so-called non-prep), in which no tooth structure is removed, but they are not suitable for every patient.
Color options vary, with the most popular shades being the white and natural-looking tones BL2 and BL3. They look impressive, yet harmonize with the skin tone without appearing artificial.
Unlike bonding, porcelain veneers do not change color over time, do not accumulate plaque as easily, and offer maximum natural translucency, mimicking a real tooth.
You are not a suitable candidate for veneers if you have serious bite problems (bruxism/teeth grinding), weak teeth, missing enamel, or poor oral health. Initial treatment of cavities and gingivitis is mandatory.
